FGI’s New Rising Stars

The Fashion Group International, Inc. (FGI) recognized eight outstanding individuals for their creativity and innovation at the 12th annual Rising Stars Awards, held on January 29th at the Rainbow Room in New York City.

Welcomed by FGI’s president Margaret Hayes, the luncheon began with a keynote address by designer Tory Burch, who spoke of her delight at being named a Rising Star in 2005 and what it has meant to her as she grew her career. Another former Rising Star winner attending the event was designer Jason Wu, who created First Lady Michelle Obama’s gown for the Inaugural Balls.

The winners of this year’s Rising Star Awards are as follows:

Beauty/Fragrance Corporate: Julie Birns for Prescriptives, The Estée Lauder Companies
Beauty/Fragrance Entrepreneur: Cathy Gins for Aromawear, LLC.
Fine Jewelry: Ariane Zurcher for Ariane Zurcher Jewelry

Men’s Apparel: Carlos Campos for Carlos Campos and Sergio Davila for Sergio Davila
